French Adverbs 1

French adverbs ending in -ment

Adverbs are words like “well” (instead of “good”), “politely” (instead of “polite”) or “badly” (instead of “bad”).  You can notice that in English they often (but not always) have an ending -ly, because they were formed from adjectives. In French you usually add -ment to form adverbs from adjectives.
